Short girl edit – Jeans

Standing at 5ft tall and having size 12 curves may have posed a slight problem in the denim department. I love denim and I honestly would live in jeans for ever if I had more than one pair. I know, one pair! It’s due to the fact I struggle to find the perfect fit and to avoid changing room grumps I stick with what I know.

Starting to take my denim obsession seriously and being fed up of having to wait for that one pair to dry (or putting them on damp… So not an adult yet) I have been on the hunt for a second pair. I wish I was ready to start my YouTube account because you’ve all missed out on some serious “jean dance” action.

ASOS petite farleigh high waist slim mom jeans

I am a size 12 in trousers usually so I went for waist 30″ and leg length 28″. I brought three pairs in exactly the same size and two of which I couldn’t get over my thighs and the third pair fitted me like a glove (leg and waist!) and I’ve fallen in love with them. ASOS I forgive you for your little sizing flaw and thank you for bringing these jeans into my life. I also wear my jeans for at least three days (haha just joking 9) and they hold their shape. They are in a mom style are are lovely and high waisted. I have no abs and a squishy tummy so for me I like something that covers me there and pulls in at the waist. Forever in debt to you ASOS.

New Look Petite India Jeans

Now I won’t lie these are THE pair of jeans I own (until the above arrived into my life) and they have served me well. They are relatively inexpensive as far as jeans go and look great. I had to size down in these so I got a size 10 and they go on without me having to call dan to assist. I wore these continuously for about 8 months before they died which isn’t bad going! It was death by chub rub I’m afraid as the inside of the legs wore thin and then broke. Fading was also an issue but I didn’t realise until I brought them again how much! Also they only keep there shape for about 2-3 days which just annoys me slightly because I hate doing the washing. But a pair of skinny jeans that I don’t have to roll up at the bottom is a-okay with me.

The jeans when they were new! Look at my long hair…

I honestly haven’t shopped in here for a long time. I just feel like nothing will fit me before I’ve even walked in. I just painfully walk past while trying not to look in the window. Probably a bit OTT I know but maybe I’ve developed a Topshop complex. However being my new super brave self I ordered a pair of wide leg jeans in a 30″ waist and a 28″ leg. They fitted and were true to size but didn’t have a patch on my ASOS beauties so sent them straight back but I now feel brave enough to order more. Every cloud….

That fact of the matter is when it comes to jeans it will never be a same size across the board thing and what suits me may not nail it for you! But if you’re on the shorter side like me, the petite sections are on the rise. Try on all of the styles even if you don’t like them on the hanger, they may transform when hugging your lovely curves!

Lots of love,

K x
